Nature-Led Solutions to Skin Care

August 05, 2026 Tricia Stevens

Plants were skincare's original laboratory. People spent generations learning what worked through trial and careful observation, long before anyone called it science. That's the history we draw from.

Herbalists, midwives and Indigenous knowledge keepers passed what they learned down for generations. They built a working understanding of which plants calmed a rash and which helped a wound close, long before anyone could explain the chemistry behind it. Modern science has since confirmed a lot of that knowledge. Red seaweed is rich in minerals and antioxidants. It holds moisture in the skin and helps calm irritation and redness. Avocado oil contains oleic acid and vitamin E. It closely mimics the sebum skin already produces, so it absorbs quickly and helps reinforce the skin barrier over time.

We formulate from the Pacific Northwest, surrounded by rainforest, coastline, moss growing on nearly everything. That abundance comes with responsibility: to notice what's already here, and to use it with care. That's where every ingredient decision starts, long before anything goes into a bottle.

Skin has always known how to heal itself, given the right support. Formulating well, to us, means listening to that history first, and confirming it with today's tools.
