Meet Freddie, Our Jojoba Supplier

We didn't want a supplier who just grew jojoba well. We wanted one who was thinking about the ground it grows in and what farming does to that ground over time. That's what brought us to Jalisco Jojoba.

The farm sits outside Dateland, Arizona. It was started by Daniel Gutierrez, Freddie's father, who came north from Jalisco, Mexico in 1959 through the temporary worker program. Daniel worked citrus fields for over a decade before turning to jojoba. Freddie now leads the farm his father built. His own kids, Juan and Alessandra, are already part of the work. That's three generations on the same land.

Beyond growing the crop itself, the farm runs its own water conservation systems and harvests rainwater instead of relying only on groundwater. They also restore desert habitat, replanting native desert species to support the wildlife that depends on them. It's Regenerative Organic Certified, certified by CCOF. That's independent verification of those practices. This is regenerative thinking in practice. The family puts back into the land as they farm it, and that's how the same acreage can keep producing for another generation.

That's what "farm to skin" means for us with this ingredient. We know the family. We know the land is being cared for in a way that will still be producing good jojoba for Freddie's kids, the way it did for his father.

It's also just good jojoba. Nothing bleached or deodorized. No chemicals or solvents used to speed up the process. What reaches us is the oil the plant actually makes.
