Nature-based solutions for us go beyond the ingredients we choose. They also shape how we choose our impact partners and projects. We look for organizations doing real, measurable restoration work, not just projects that look good on paper.
When done well, investment in nature-based solutions supports biodiversity and strengthens ecosystem resilience. It delivers real benefits for local communities alongside environmental results. That's the standard we hold our partnerships to.
Meet veritree
veritree is a restoration organization that plants, monitors and verifies ecosystem restoration projects around the world. They're the partner behind the kelp forest work funded by every Plantd facial care purchase.
We use ingredients drawn from the sea, like red seaweed and kelp, in our facial care formulas. Restoring the ecosystems those ingredients come from felt like an obvious place to put our energy.
We chose veritree because they track real outcomes on the ground, with sites that are geo-tagged and monitored over time. This page is where our formulas and their restoration work meet.

Leaping Bunny Certified
At Plantd, we are committed to creating cruelty-free cosmetics. We do not test our finished products or ingredients on animals, and we source only from suppliers who share our commitment to animal welfare. In addition to our own internal policies, we comply with the third-party certification standards of the Leaping Bunny Program, and only work with raw materials suppliers who meet this criteria.
Reducing Plastic Waste
Most body and facial care products are made and sold in plastic bottles. We package ours in jars instead, a packaging choice that keeps waste out of landfills and waterways.
Weight diverted is an estimate built from published container weights for comparable bottle sizes. Actual weight depends on the specific bottle a jar replaced, so we show a range instead of a single number. This reflects plastic that was never produced, not a guarantee that any specific bottle would have been recycled. Recycling rates vary by material and by region.
